Isle of Tribes

Irian Jaya has a wilder landscapes and more impenetrable, treacherous jungle than any other tropical region, including the amazon valley, and central white-sand sea beaches line with coconut palms, wild forest streams plugging down rock faces, snowfields, jewel-like turquoise and green lake trewn with glacial debris, hearth and yellow marshes with headgrass, stands of pine trees, wild sugarcane meadows, casuarina groves, and most carpeted forests with bright flower growing riotously. This is also the home to 150 species of lizards and estuary crocdiles, with 25 crocodile farms found throughout the island. Irian Jaya is an incredible island in Indonesia with more than 250 tribes in which some of themstill live in primitive ways or perhaps just came out from the stone age.

  Transfer to the local airport for leaving for Ewer Mission Strip about 2 hours flight. Next by motorized canoe to Agats, an Asmat region. Check to simple hotel. In the afternoon visit to Syuru village on foot and Agats museum.
• D-3 » AGATS - OWUS ( B / L / D )
  Continue the motorized canoe to Jepem. Overnight at a longhouse in Owus village. See and learn the Asmat carving, customs, and their community life.
• D-4 » OWUS - AMANDESEP ( B / L / D )
  Motorized canoing for Biwar laut, Amandasep, and overnight at a longhouse. In the evening gather with the natives, listen to the stories of ancient time.
• D-5 » AMANDESEP - AGATS ( B / L / D )
  Leave Amandesep, Atsy, Amankai, Ambarep, Wares and Agats. Overnight at Agats.
• D-6 » AGATS - JAYAPURA ( B / L / D )
  In the morning transfer to Ewer Mission Strip to get the flight to Jayapura for overnight.
• D-7 » JAYAPURA - DEPARTURE ( B )
  Transfer to the airport for flight departure.

  Meeting service and transfer to hotel.
• D-2 » JAYAPURA - AIKIMA ( B / L / D )
  Transfer to the local airport for leaving for Baliem valley. Arriving at Wamena walk or transfer to hotel. Visit Aikima village to see the mummy of the former chief of the village. Back to hotel for overnight.
• D-3 » WAPHAK TOUR ( B / L / D )
  In the morning hiking for Waphak village about 7 hours found up to a mountain. Next enjoy Danish tribal pig feast and traditional performances in Napua.
• D-4 » WAMENA - JAYAPURA ( B / L / D )
  If the flight is in the afternoon, take a walk and visit to unique local market where the Danish tribe sell their unique tribe products. Then fly back to Jayapura for overnight.

  Transfer to the airport for flight departure.
